Happy, Happy Day!

The doorbell rang a few minutes ago.  FedEx delivery.  It was addressed to me, although I wasn't expecting anything.  I open the package, and lo and behold-- medicine!  Three months worth of Lyrica, free!  That's almost $750 retail.  I sent in paperwork to Pfizer's patient assistance program a couple weeks ago, and they've already sent me my first shipment.  Thank you, Pfizer!

  2. They totally deserve sex and bacon, maybe even a side order of Old Spice Guy, if I can drag him away from Witchy for the evening.

I'm used to dealing with insurance companies and the gummint. I expected to be asked to fill out the paperwork three more times, with at least two requests for further information before anything would happen. This was like wowza fast and easy. I highly recommend checking into these programs for anyone who doesn't have prescription coverage for whatever reason. Just google the name of your medication with "patient assistance program" and see what comes up. Not every med has a program, but my scary expensive ones all do. Everything else I take runs around or under $30, which is not out of line for a prescription co-pay anyway.

  6. All of these programs are run by the individual drug companies, so it varies. But as far as I know, Pfizer will send me another batch of meds in 90 days. I need to check the details, but I don't think I have to fill out paperwork again until the 6 month or one year mark.

I've been delighted to cadge the occasional sample from my doctors, so three whole months worth of pills is a godsend. And every quarter that they're willing to send me pills is a relief.

  8. That's really great news! It's always a relief when an expense is compensated in some way. Hopefully this continues for you!
